If you invest in a gaming chair, it is certainly not to buy a new one the following year. However, when I look for a chair, I also look at its durability potential. The first point I pay attention to is the piston (or cylinder). It must be able to support its weight or even a bit more (you never know with holidays : D). Also, if the piston has a limited capacity, it will be difficult with your saddle, which can quickly become restrictive.
The other feature I look at is the nature of the materials used for the structure of the chair and its support. I prefer a steel frame for durability and strength. This steel frame will be most important for the base on which the wheels are located. The skeleton of the chair should also be strong because it holds the foam and gives your seat some support. You will find many entry-level or low-end chairs with predominantly plastic frames. Some brands use plastic without losing efficiency, but this is not the case for everyone.
